Dayton, Ohio – The City of Dayton’s Department of Recreation has announced a temporary closure of the Dabney Pool located at the Northwest Recreation Center. The pool will be shut down from July 26 through August 24 to allow for important maintenance work to be completed.
Though the Dabney Pool will be closed, the Northwest Recreation Center itself will remain open throughout the maintenance period, allowing community members to continue using other amenities.
In the meantime, all pool operations will be moved to the Lohrey Recreation Center, also known as the Belmont Pool. Swimmers who frequent Dabney are encouraged to plan ahead and adjust their schedules accordingly during this time.
Officials emphasized that early notice was given to help residents plan their summer visits without disruption. “We appreciate your understanding and wanted to provide early notice so you can plan ahead,” the department shared, also thanking patrons for their patience.
This temporary closure ensures that Dabney Pool remains a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility for all swimmers. Once maintenance is completed, the pool will reopen to the public.
For further updates on pool hours or programming changes, residents are encouraged to follow the Dayton Department of Recreation or visit the official website.
