Bank robbery suspect fled the scene with an unspecified amount of money; police looking for information

Police responded to a report of a bank robbery on Wednesday morning, and they are now searching for the suspect.

Police were sent to the KeyBank located in the 5000 block of Chambersburg Road. According to the reports, the suspect pulled a gun after entering the bank and demanded money from the tellers. Shortly after that, he ran away from the bank in an unknown direction.

Information regarding the exact amount of money the suspect took was not released.

Police released a description of the suspect, saying he is a male in his 30s or 40s and was wearing white shoes, a black jacket, black shorts, and a blue surgical mask at the time of the robbery. Anyone who might have information regarding the suspect in the photo above is urged to contact authorities immediately.

Even though the event was scary and left those at the bank shaken, no one was hurt.

“Officers quickly established a perimeter, and a K9 responded to conduct a track, but because students were walking to the school nearby, the track was called off for safety reasons,” a spokesperson for the police department said.

If additional information becomes available, we will update this article.
