Authorities identified motorcyclist who was killed in an accident

Miamisburg, Ohio – According to the Montgomery County Coroner, a collision between a motorcycle and a utility vehicle that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Harrison Twp. resulted in the death of a man from Miamisburg.

The Montgomery County Coroner, Dr. Kent Harshbarger, said in a press release on Thursday morning that the man who died in the accident on Needmore Road near Wagner Ford Road on Wednesday was 61-year-old Scott Dodds.

The crash occurred on Wednesday around 4:15 p.m.

A spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in a media release on Wednesday that an initial investigation revealed the truck attempted to make a left turn to travel west on Needmore Road out of the parking lot of City Electric Supply.

The truck suddenly pulled in front of a motorcycle going east on Needmore Road, causing the motorcycle to crash into the truck.

Dodds was declared dead at the scene.

There were no other reported injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
