Authorities have positively identified the body recovered from the Great Miami River as the missing individual

Dayton, Ohio – The body of a man who was reported missing a few days ago was recovered and he has been positively identified. The search for him had been going on for several days.

According to the Dayton Fire Department, the man has been positively identified as the missing individual who was believed to have entered the water near West Monument Avenue early on Friday morning. The incident was said to have occurred at 1:00 a.m.

The corpse was found just after nine in the morning near the low dam in West Carrollton.

Over the course of the previous three days, members of the water rescue team of the Dayton Fire Department spent roughly 20 hours looking in and around the water near the area of the first incident as well as farther downstream.

The man has been identified as Cole Estes, a 35-year-old West Alexandria resident. This information was provided by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
