Toledo, Ohio – A lucky lottery player in Toledo is celebrating a major financial windfall after winning a top prize through an Ohio Lottery scratch-off game that promised payouts for decades.
Officials announced that a local man won $40,000 a year for 25 years after purchasing a Monopoly Bonus Spectacular 100X Scratch-Off ticket. Instead of receiving the prize through yearly payments, the winner decided to take the alternative cash option offered through the lottery.
That choice allowed him to claim a lump sum payment of $500,000 rather than the full annuity spread over 25 years. After mandatory federal and state tax withholdings totaling 26.75%, lottery officials said the winner will take home $366,250.
The winning ticket was sold at True North #510.
