Bowerston, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced a significant change to traffic patterns at the intersection of State Route 151 and State Route 212 in Harrison County, specifically within the village of Bowerston. Beginning September 2, 2025, the current one-way stop setup at this intersection will be converted to an all-way stop.
According to ODOT officials, the decision to implement this change was made in order to improve overall safety for drivers traveling through the area. Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully and remain alert as they approach the intersection.
In preparation for the update, new stop signs will be installed on all approaches, along with flashing LED warning signs to catch drivers’ attention. Additionally, temporary message boards will be placed near the intersection ahead of the change to ensure the public is aware and prepared to stop from every direction.
Drivers unfamiliar with the area or accustomed to the previous pattern should proceed with caution in the days following the adjustment. The new traffic control measure is part of ODOT’s broader effort to reduce accidents and promote safe travel on rural roadways across Ohio.
