East Rochester, Ohio – What started as an ordinary morning for an East Rochester man quickly turned into a moment he will never forget—all because he overslept. After sleeping through his alarm and missing work, the man decided to swing by the Classic 2 Drive Thru located at 1025 E Lincoln Way in Minerva to grab an energy drink and get his day back on track.
While at the drive-thru, he purchased a $30 Scratch-Off ticket and was thrilled to win $500. Feeling lucky, he decided to buy a couple more tickets before leaving. Among them was the Monopoly 200X Scratch-Off — a decision that turned into a $50,000 win.
“I reversed my truck in the drive thru and asked the clerk to check my ticket. I told him, ‘I think you just changed my life,’” the man shared, still in disbelief at his stroke of luck. He admitted his heart was racing, and at first, he thought it was all a joke until the retailer confirmed he had indeed become $50,000 richer.
Not His First Lucky Break
Interestingly, this is not the first time luck has smiled on this man. Earlier in March, his truck had slid off the road near a gas station. After pulling himself together, he went inside to buy a drink and a VIP Millions Scratch-Off — which turned out to be a $20,000 winner. With that windfall, he purchased a new truck, and now, with his latest prize, he plans to pay it off in full.
After state and federal taxes, he will take home approximately $36,000 from his recent win.
