6-year-old boy died after the man who was supposed to take care of him while his mother was at work beat him with a wood and then poured hydrogen peroxide on his wounds; arrested

California – In a disturbing incident in California, a young boy’s life was cut short, leading to charges of murder, torture, and child abuse against a 41-year-old man, identified as E. Love.

On the evening of August 29, the 6-year-old boy, identified as Chance, was left in the care of Love, a local barber, by his mother, who had to attend her night shift as a nurse’s assistant. What transpired over the next several hours is a chilling testament to the horrors of child abuse. Reportedly, the situation escalated fatally after Chance had an accident and peed his pants at the park, which allegedly set Love off in a fit of rage.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, the abuse occurred in Love’s barbershop, where he had access to various objects he used to inflict pain on Chance. Surveillance footage from the barbershop showed Love entering with Chance, holding a large piece of lumber, which he used to beat the child. The severity of the beating was such that it removed much of the tissue from Chance’s buttocks, creating raw, gaping wounds.

Instead of immediately seeking medical help, Love poured hydrogen peroxide on the boy’s wounds and then forced Chance to perform physical exercises like push-ups, sit-ups, and jumping jacks, exacerbating his injuries. Only after the boy collapsed did Love drive him to the hospital. By then, Chance was barely breathing and critically injured. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Chance succumbed to his injuries and passed away on September 1. Chance suffered from a subdural hematoma, extreme brain swelling, and other injuries typical of violent shaking.

Love, who faces up to 32 years to life in prison if convicted, did not call 911 but instead chose to drive the critically injured boy to the hospital himself. His actions following the incident have been a point of contention and horror for both the community and the authorities. Love is currently held without bond in the county’s jail, having pleaded not guilty to the charges. DA T. Spitzer expressed his determination to seek justice for Chance, emphasizing the terror and betrayal inflicted upon a child by someone who was supposed to protect him. The DA’s office and the public alike are horrified by the severity and senselessness of the abuse.

The community and Chance’s family are devastated. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family, describing Chance as a “sweet little boy” who loved “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and “Sesame Street.” Friends and family remembered him as a bright and gifted child who loved to draw and had his whole life ahead of him. As the case progresses through the legal system, the focus remains on justice for Chance. Chance’s aunt has been active on social media since the tragedy in their family, calling for the boy’s mother to be arrested as well.
