Upon entering his home, Belk discovered Floyd, who had just turned 18 three days earlier, on top of his 31-year-old wife, identified as J. Gholston, in bed. Authorities were called to the scene to find a grim situation: Belk, standing in his doorway covered in blood, and Floyd’s body in a disturbing state, stuffed into a trash can.
